Summer sessions starts the month of May.
Upon completion of Traffic Education, the student will need to complete 50 hours of supervised driving time over the course of 6 months and then will need to setup an appointment to test with the MVD. All students need to set the appointment as a driving test. At the appointment, the student will find out if they have been waived by their driving instructor.

The link below takes you directly to the State of Montana's Driver Appointment Scheduling:
Students are required to present their driving log. This can be either in a digital format or on paper. They must complete 50 hours of supervised driving, including 10 hours at night.
Students going for testing must provide their own vehicle that is in good working order. The car must also have insurance, or proof of self-insurance from the State of Montana. These will be checked before the state representative will start the test. If these are not met, the student will need to reschedule the test, which could result in a longer wait time to get their license. The permit only lasts 12 months, so don't wait!
Lasts 12 months after getting their License OR when the driver turns 18.
After completing their hours and gaining their license:
For the first 6 months:
1. Seat Belts must be worn at all times for all passengers in the car.
2. Curfew from 11 pm to 5 am
-Unless travel is for school, church, work or farm-related activities.
3. Only one non-related passenger. Unlimited family members with guardian approval.
For the last 6 months:
1. Seat Belts must be worn at all times for all passengers in the car.
2. Curfew is still in effect from 11 pm to 5 am.
3. Up to three non-related passengers. Unlimited family members with guardian approval.
After 12 months are completed or the driver turns 18, they will have earned a Full Privilege Driver License, with the current endorsements they earned. Other endorsements ,such as CDL and Motorcycle, must still be obtained by the driver at their choice/time and/or approval of guardian.
